"Oatmeal Cookie" Protein Shake

“Oatmeal Cookie” Protein Shake

I started to make my post-workout protein shake when I thought about those yummy Oatmeal Raisin Protein Cookies I recently made (recipe posted), and I thought “hey, that sounds good”. So here ya go…

1 Cup Almond Milk
1 Scoop Vanilla Protein Powder (I used V-Core “Vanilla Bean” from
Complete Nutrition
¼ Cup Raw Oats (I used whole wheat)
½ Banana

2 tsp Ground Flaxseed
4 dashes Cinnamon
2-3 dashes Nutmeg (or you can use allspice, but I’m out!)

Blend and enjoy!

(Did you know that it's hard for your body to digest the nutrients from non-ground flaxseed? Buy it ground!)

Oatmeal Raisin Protein Cookies

Oatmeal Raisin Protein Cookies

So, a friend of mine was craving oatmeal raisin cookies... of course I wanted to try to make a protein treat that tasted like an oatmeal cookie! This is what I came up with and yes, they're delicious! :-)

Ingredients:
1 Cup Oats (I use Whole Wheat, uncooked)
4 Tbsp Peanut Butter
2 Scoops Vanilla Protein Powder (I used V-Core)
2 Tsp Baking Powder
2 Tsp Ground Flaxseed
1 Egg White
1 Whole Egg
1 Tsp Ground Cinnamon
½ Tsp All Spice (I was out of All Spice and used Nutmeg instead, turned out well)
½ Cup Raisins

Directions:
Combine all ingredients in a bowl.
Roll into balls (about 1½ Tbs in size)
Place balls onto cookie sheet with parchment paper
Press down to flatten a little bit
Bake at 350° for  about 12 minutes (depend on the size of the "cookies")

Enjoy!  :-)

Chocolate Coconut Protein Balls

Chocolate Coconut Protein Balls

My healthy eating habits and my sweet tooth often fight… a lot! These protein balls have no sugar, no flour, no oil but they taste like little cookies sent from heaven on a sparkly rainbow… or something like that! ;-) They’re GOOD!

Ingredients:
½ Cup Oats (I use whole wheat, uncooked)
2 Tbs Peanut Butter (I like doing 1 tbs creamy with 1 tbs chunky)
1 Scoop Chocolate Protein Powder (I use "Healthy 100% Whey" "Chocolate Milk" from HyVee - picture below)
1 tsp Baking Powder
1 Tbs Flaxseed (I use ground flaxseed)
1 Egg White
1 Tbs Coconut Extract (If you reeeally like a strong coconut taste, use 2 tbs ;-)
¼ Cup Dark Chocolate Chips
*I like to make a double batch! This makes about 9 balls, not enough! ;-)
*For Peanut Butter Chocolate Chip Cookies, double the peanut butter and egg white and ex-nay the coconut.

Directions:
Mix all ingredients together in a bowl.
Roll into balls (around 1 ½ tbs in size – it’s really sticky, have fun!)
Place on cookie sheet with parchment paper
Bake at 350° for about 10 minutes depending on the size you made the balls.

Enjoy!
